ADA, Mich., March 23, 2019 -- Reeds Lake may be frozen, but the competition was hot at The Grand Rapids Spring Sprints, hosted by Forest Hills Central. East took on club and high school programs from across West Michigan, finishing 2nd of 9 in team points behind perennial powerhouse Rockford. The second place finish is East's highest team points finish at the event.
The event is pressure packed, being the only team-wide, individual race of the crew season. There are no other rowers in the boat to hide behind and spectators can watch every stroke of each race. EGR Crew will take to the water in the coming week, to translate hard earned erg fitness to the boats. The team's 2019 on-water debut will be April 20th at the Belted Galloway Regatta against Forest Hills Northern, Central, and Eastern crews.
