The Pioneers took an early lead against the Cranes Saturday, but Cranbrook-Kingswood stormed back to win the game 6-1.
East got on the board early when Sophie Forstner scored off a corner in the game's opening minutes. Grace Griemsman assisted on the goal.
Cranbrook-Kingswood fought back with three unanswered goals in the first period, and added three more in the second to account for the final score.
"We had lots of scoring opportunities with 13 offensive corners but we were unable to get a goal," East Grand Rapids coach Ingrid Fournier said after the game. "Our defense struggled with Cranbrook’s hard drives and quick transitions."
